As a Michigan native, born and raised in Benton Harbor, Deavondre Jones is an entrepreneur, professor, artist and father. He’s the founder of DanceSpire, a lifestyle brand with a mission to accelerate the adoption of standardized hip hop dance education for dance programs. DanceSpire provides opportunities for dance enthusiasts and solutions for dance programs. Aside from DS, Deavondre splits his time running the DanceSpire Agency, a digital marketing company whose mission is to close the knowledge gap around tech for artists and seasoned professionals. He is currently a professor at Hope College, Michigan State University and Oakland University after spending two years teaching at Grand Valley State University. Deavondre is passionate about dance, marketing, fatherhood and building community. He serves on a state-wide fatherhood board; the Michigan Action Plan for Fatherhood Involvement (MAP-FI), serves in leadership for the Iota Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi and volunteers for the West Michigan “Dads Count!” collective.
